You may have seen this but I wanted to pass it along as I find this very interesting.
Misc. County Records 1774-1804. The men had to sign the oath to vote. Capt. William Borrough's District, Oaths were taken by Mr. Thos. Turner, J.P. "List included Jno. Bobbitt, Sr., Drury Bobbitt, Isham Bobbitt, Jno. Bobbitt, Jnr. Stephen Bobbitt." [note, these are the oldest boys and of voting age] list also includes Chas. James, George James and Isaac James. One of these may be the father of Elizabeth James, the wife of Isham Bobbitt.
The Oath!!
I will bare faithful and true allegiance to the State of North Carolina and will truly endeavor to support maintain and defend the Independent Goverm't thereof against George the third King of Great Britain and his succossors and the attempts of any other person, prince, power, State, or potentate who by secret are treason conspire copies or by open force shall attempt to subject the same and I will in every respect conduct myself as a peaceful orderly subject and that I will disclose and make known to the Governor [or] some member of the Council of State or some Justice of the Superior Courts or of the peace all treason conspiracies and attempts committed or intended against the State which shall come to my knowledge so help you God.Present day Warren County
Will recorded in Moore County
Son of John and Amy Bobbitt
Drury Bobbitt was the first born son of John Richard and Amy (Alston) Bobbitt. He was born in what was then called Edgecombe County, on land that is in present day Warren County, North Carolina.
Drury Bobbitt is first mentioned in the records of Bute County, in Deed Book 2. page 42, recorded July 16, 1767.
"John Bobbitt Senior, sold to Peter Smart, 295 acres of land on Reedy Branch and Rocky Branch, for 110 pounds of Virginia money. Land adjoining Joseph Green, Daniel and Francis Acock, exclusive of two acres around the Baptist Meeting House and spring. Witnesses: Joseph Green, Drury Bobbitt. Proved by, Drury Bobbitt in Bute County Court, February 1768."
Drury Bobbitt had to be at least 16 years of age to take part in this legal transaction. He was 23 years of age when this record was made. The records of Sheerwood Bobbitt, son of Drury, prove that he was born in 1763. We also know that Sheerwood was not the first son of Drury Bobbitt. The birth of Drury must be calculated as being in 1744.
Drury Bobbitt married in 1761 and was listed as head of his own household with taxable property in the 1771 Bute County tax lists. Drury Bobbitt married Elizabeth Harris, a daughter of Nathaniel Harris. On January 29, 1773, a deed was recorded in Bute County in Book 5, page 12.6, whereby Drury added to his land holdings.
"Lewis Harris of Southampton County Virginia, to Drury Bobbitt of Bute County. 479 acres of land for 200 pounds of procolmation money. Land in the Parish of St. John, on the south side of Ben's Creek, adjoining Moseley and Mabry. Witnesses: Nathaniel Harris, William Davis. Proved in court by Nathaniel Harris."
Randolph Bobbitt was a brother of Drury Bobbitt. Randolph died in 1804, and at the sale of his estate, Drury and Elizabeth Bobbitt were listed among the purchasers. Randolph Bobbitt had married an Elizabeth Harris, daughter of Charles Harris. Drury married an Elizabeth Harris, daughter of Nathaniel Harris. We believe that Charles and Nathaniel Harris were brothers.
Drury Bobbitt Senior was the first Bobbitt to have "Drury" as a given name.Drury and Randolph married the daughters of brothers Charles andRandolpd Harries, bothe maned Elizabeth. This Drury was the first tohave the name of Drury in the Bobbitt line.Drury was born in what was Edgecombe County, which in the present dayWarren County, North Carolina

http://www.lofthouse.com/warren/history/davisduke.htm
James Maddray III was born about 1726 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia and married Anne Ward about 1750. He was a shoemaker by profession but was wealthy enough to have slaves. Very shortly after his marriage, he migrated to the Fishing Creek region and purchased land. He was not able to enjoy it long because he was dead by 1760. His wife took over his outstanding land transactions and seemed to have been adept at making those sales happen. By 1765, she had married Randolph Hazelwood. She outlived him by 20 years and left an estate in 1811. James daughter Mary married Matthew Davis.

From a privately published account in "Our Tree" by Lafayette Claude Eaton Jr, : "In Feb 1777, Matthew Davis and Randolph Hazlewood appeared in Bute Co. Court and objected to the probate of the will of the Late Moses Maddray (note) who had bequeathed all his property to his brother William Maddray." They were married to sisters of Moses. Anne's name is not specified as is one sister, Mary (Polly)Maddray. (Note: There were a number of spellings for the last name and a possible relationship to Darling Maddray, Constable of Warren County in 1788, is footnoted.

This is my first visit to this web cite and I am so excited to find that there is so much interest in "our" family. For years I have felt that I must be working in a vaccuum and that no one even cared about the Cheeks but me!
I have loads of info on Richard Sr. He was born in either 1692 or 1695 (depending on the record), married Jane Randolph in 1720 in Spotsylvania County Va. Their children were:
Elizabeth, b. @ 1721, m. John Burney
Jane, b. 27 Sep 1722, m. Cornelius Tyson
William, b. @ 1723 in Essex Co VA, D. 1800 in Warren Co., m. Sarah Burney
Richard, Jr., b. @ 1725
John, b. 1729, m. Sally (LNU)
Robert, b. @1731
James, b. @1733, m. Ann Mayo @ 1752/52
Ann, b. @ 1735
Randolph, b. @ 1737, m. (FNU) GreenRichard and his family were the only Quaker line of Cheeks known in the SE part of the clonies.
There are lots of land transactions, records of his employment as a deputy sherrif and a tobacco feller, his receipt of funds for bounties on wolves heads, even the registration of his marking of his cattle and hogs, etc.
The land sale in Feb. 1, 1729/30 (slash signifies change from Julian to Gregorian calendar) was very important because it is evidence that Richard Sr. was not convicted when he was charged with the burning of the home of the lawyer Mosley Battaley. Richard was charged in a sort of preliminary trial (like our grand jury) then sent to Williamsburg to await the formal trial. The burning of Williamsburg in the Revolution meant that the records of the trail were lost forever. However, the burning of a home being a capital offense, Richard would have either been executed or he would have been expelled from the colony of VA and his lands would have been seized, if he had been found guilty. The fact that he is on record as selling his lands proves that he was not convicted.
Yes, he and his family moved to NC where he received land grants of 640 acres on the N. side of the Tar River in "Bofort" (Beaufort) Co., 400 acres in Edgecom Co., then another 640 acres in Edgecom Co. It should be noted that Cheek's Mill Creek was part of the boundry between Beaufort and Edgecom Counties.
Richard made another will on Sep. 29, 1743 as he prepared to go to SC. It was probated in "Boford" (Beaufort) County on Apr. 30, 1745. In both this and his previous will, he identifies Richard Cheek (Jr.) as his son.
My line comes down through Richard Sr. to James, to Ellis, to William Cheek of 1784 (82?) who moved us into Jasper County Ga. in about 1819, after his service near there in the War of 1812. I desparately need more info about this particular William Cheek (and don't you know there were oodles of uncles, cousins etc. all named William!)

Jeremiah was born in 1718 at Essex Co., Virginia.41
He married Mary McDaniel on 16 October 1738 at Talbot Co., Maryland.41 He married Rececca Browne on 27 January 1746/47 at New Jersey.41 Jeremiah died probably after 1777 when Jeremiah is mentioned twice in the accout of the estate of John Talbot, once as Jere and once as Jerr, probably meaning that there were two men by the same name.41
Jeremiah was born on Piscataway Creek in South Farnham Parish. Jeremiah's mother, Amy, evidently was pregnant with Jeremiah when her husband John died. Jeremiah was not mentioned in his father's will which was written 17 September in Essex Co. naming his five children. John died eight months later at age 47, shortly before 21 May 1718, when his will was proved in court. In 1771, Jeremiah's brother, Joseph, died intestate in Essex Co. where he had been a wealthy man with land in Essex, his home plantation, and also in Dinwiddie and Caroline Counties. Joseph's son, Richard, filed his Administrator Account with the Court in Essex on 22 October 1773 and listed on his account was the following words, "By articles inventoried and not sold which his brother Jeremiah Claims, totaling 15 pounds, 17 shillings and 6 pence. Joseph had sons Jeremiah, Joseph, Leonard ... but when these names were listed by Richard, he said only their names and did not give relationship to his father, meaning Richard had to define who the above "Jeremiah" was. This statement proves without doubt that Richard was referring to two Jeremiahs, one the brother and one the son of Joseph.42
When Jeremiah was 12 his mother and his step-father, David Scott, moved to Spotsylvania County and this is probably where he was raised.
There is a marriage record dated 16 October 1738 in Talbot Co., Maryland to Mary McDaniel of St. Peter's Parish and another dated 27 January 1746 in New Jersey to Rebecca Brown of Burlington. According to Bork in The Burnetts and Their Connections neither of these have been researched and either or both could belong to this Jeremiah. This will need to be researched further.
After the above marriages, there is no mention of Jeremiah again until the 1763 Tax List for Hanover County, where he is shown with 100 acres and his son, Isaac, with 128 acres. The Hanover tax lists did not begin again until 1782 and Jeremiah is missing. Isaac was still there with 319 acres and 9 white tithables, including his son John. Jeremiah served in the Revolutionary War in Capt. William Campbell's Company under Lt. Daniel Trigg and Alexander Cummings. In May 1774 Court Orders, Bedford Co., Virginia, Jeremiah Burnett was paid 8.6.6 for service in Capt. William Campbell's Company under Lt. Danile Trigg and Alexander Cummings. On 7 June 1774, Montgomery County, Virginia, Grants under the Royal Land Company by order of the Council (the charge was 3 pounds per 100 acres), Jeremiah Burnett surveyed 256 acres on Middle ford of Holston River joining lands of James Thompson, where he now lives. On 31 March 1781, Court Orders, Bedford Co., Virginia, Jeremiah Burnett in Lt. Triggs Company of Militia in Revolutionary War. Enlisted in Bedford Co under Capt. Wm. Campbell.42

341. Deborah JANNEY was born about 1710 in Ireland. Children were:
170 i. William Robert LESLIE.According to the Young family lore, the line is of Irish descent. Preliminary research suggests they were most likely Scot-Irish, or Ulster Scots. These people were Protestant Scots who migrated to the Ulster region in Northern Ireland about 1610. In the early 1700's they migrated to America, largely to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. During that period, the chief port-of-entry was Philadelphia. Migration paths of these Scot-Irish to Kentucky and later to the Ozark regions of Missouri also coincide with the migration of the Young family.

Ancestors of President Buchanan:
Descendants of Thomas, of Donegal
by Patty HopkinsonPresident James Buchanans genealogy has been fairly well established for a number of years. Many people have tried to closely tie their own lines into the Presidents line based on family legends and wishful thinking. I receive a large number of letters every year with comments such as "my great grandfather said he was a 1st cousin to President Buchanan" or "my grandmother said her father was a 3rd cousin of President Buchanans." Most of these family rumors tend to be untrue and mainly came about during the 1930s "Buchanan Estate Scam" where letters
were send out to anyone with the name Buchanan claiming they were entitled to a share of a nonexistent multi-million dollar estate. Often, these letters went on to claim that President Buchanan was at one time head of the Clan (blatantly untrue). Some of these letters stated that if you could claim close kinship to the President that your share of the estate would be larger. For anyone to even claim to be a third cousin of the President, they must be descended from Thomas Buchanan, of Donegal (or sometimes referred to as Thomas, of Rathmelton). As the rest of this article will show, many descendants of Thomas are known.
I appreciate comments and will do my best to answer questions about the genealogy presented here or about Buchanan genealogy in general (pattyh@vantek.net). Figure 1 shows 6 generations of Buchanans. I have
attempted to distinguish between what has been established to a reasonable certainly as fact and information that is speculation and not backed up with evidence. I will begin by expanding on this chart working from top (generation 1) to bottom (generation 6), working left to right.
Generation 1
President James Buchanans great great great grandfather was George Buchanan, of Blairlusk, born 1648, Dumbartonshire, Scotland. He inherited Blairlusk in 1662 from his father. In 1674 he sold Blairlusk to his brother William when he moved to Deroran, Co. Tyrone, Ireland. He married Elizabeth Mayne in 1675 and had 4 known sons: John of Tyrone, William of Tyrone, George of Munster, and Thomas of Donegal.
Generation 2
William Buchanan, of Tyrone was born circa 1677 in Co. Tyrone, Ireland. He married Jean and had several children. The exact number has ranged from 10-13, depending on which source you choose to follow. The 13 children are: Patrick, Robert, William, Arthur, Walter, Jeanette, John, George, James, Thomas. Margaret, Andrew and a daughter (name unknown), all born in Ireland. William and Jean are the ancestors of the Buchanans of Meadville, PA, and early settlers in Cumberland, Crawford, York, and Adams Counties in PA, some of whom went into NY, OH, and as far south as MO. Their descendants will be the subject of a future article.Wills - Washington CO PA
127 Joshua Anderson, exe, of Walter Buchanan, wife Elizabeth, 1808The foregoing covers all of the political divisions of the original Donegal township.
There is no doubt as to the origin of the ffame given to the pioneer town- ship division; very many of the Ulsterites who settled in Lancaster county were from County Donegal, in Ireland. The influence of the Scotch-Irish is also seen in the naming of Derry, after Londonderry. Derry was one of the township divisions decided upon when Lancaster county was organized, but when Dauphin county was organized Derry township could no longer be claimed by Lancaster. Rapho can also be traced without reasonable doubt, for the town of Rapho is the ecclesiastical centre of County Donegal. "The Roman Catholic bishop of Raphoe is practically Bishop of Donegal; and the Episcopal Bishop of Raphoe has jurisdiction in Derry." The derivative of Mount Joy, however, is not so easily determined. Dr. Dubbs suggested, though not seriously, a French origin, "Mont-Joie" being an ancient battle-cry of the Franks. There is not much evidence to support such a suggestion, even though the first white settlers in the Donegals were the French-Canadian Indian traders. Mount joy may safely be associated with dramatic incidents of British history; either the breaking of the boom by the vessel "Mountjoy" and the consequent raising of the siege of Londonderry; or the breaking of the power of the Catholics in the North of Ireland by Lord Mountjoy in Queen Elizabeth's last years, making possible King James the First's plan to colonize Ulster with Protestants from Scotland and England. Conoy township, on the other hand, though seemingly an Irish name, is said to have been derived "from a tribe of Indians that formerly inhabited the region."
early Settlers in the Donegal Region-The Indian traders were in the Donegal country many years before the first of the regular settlers came; some were in the region in the seventeenth century. The first permanent settlers in what may be termed the Donegal region located along the Chiques creek, beginning in 1716, and spreading eventually over most of the five town- ships now represented in the original Donegal. The list is not complete, but it at least establishes the time of settlement of some of the principal Scotch-Irish families of the "Upper. End" of the county. Robert Middleton is shown as settling in 1716; John and George Stewart in 1717; Peter Allen, Robert and William Buchanan, William Bryan, Thomas Bayley, Henry Bealey, Andrew, James and John Galbraith, John Gardner, James Mitchell, Samuel Smith, John Sterret, Robert, Thomas, William and John Wilkins in 1718; Patrick Campbell, James Cunningham, Joseph Cloud, James Couch, Daniel Clark, Widow Dunning, John and Thomas Mitchell, Ephraim Moore, James Smith, and Joseph Work in 1720; John Taylor in 1721; Robert, James and John Allison, Gordon Howard, Thomas Howard, Alexander Hutchison, William Maybee, Richard McFarland, Robert Monday, John Maris, James Kyle, and Hugh White, in 1722; John Miller in 1723; Thomas Black, William Beach, John Black, Robert Brown, John Davison, John Doaks, Christian Gardner, John Walker and Michael Wood, in 1724; Jeremiah Bringham, Mat- thias Blazer, James Brownlow, Abraham Inless, Hugh Scott, in 1725; Rev. James Anderson, Joseph Baston, James Harris, Alexander McKee, George Mayfort, in 1726; Lazarus, James, John, Daniel and Alexander Lowrey, in 1729; James Buey, James Cook, Peter Hairston, James Hutchison, John Kelley, William and Alexander Mitchell, Thomas and John Scott, in 1730. The Galbraith family was one of the most prominent. They located on land near Donegal Church.John Eddy of Woodbridge's will shows what he left to his children, his second wife, and his children from his first marriage. The will is probated in York, York County, Pennsylvania. (Later, in 1801 the Marsh Creek area becomes part of Adam’s County, PA). In addition to the will there is a listing of his personal property.

William's father is believed to be Thomas Adkins, Jr. of Henrico County, VA. Others believe his father is John Adkins of New Kent County. The original spelling of his name is Atkinson.

The earliest proven records of our family from 1716 through the Revolutionary War had the name entered, most often, as Atkinson although Adkins, Adkinson, and Atkins were used. Our earliest known ancestor William V. Adkins is entered in Henrico, Goochland, Brunswick, and Lunenberg Counties of Virginia with all four of the above spellings. These different spellings of the name most often occurred as a result of record keeping misspellings. Since the Revolutionary War all known family members have spelled the name Adkins.

1.Parker V. ADKINSFrom the Family Notes of Virginia Pierce: "A lot of the information we have on the descendan ts of William Atkinson and Elizabeth Parker was taken from the book 'Adkins-Land of York, Sur rey Co., England to Beech Fork, Wayne Co., West Virginia by Ronnie Adkins". Fianlly one day in the mail came this large volume book. It is filled with genealogy on our family on Grandma Nancy Evalyn Elkins side. It has pictures of wills, cemetery lists, birth certificates, marriage certificates, as well as pictures of places and of people from Wil iam Atkinson on down."
From "Adkins' Family History":
"William Adkins (Atkinson in all early records), the earliest proven ancestor of our fam ily was born in Charles City or Henrico Co. Virginia. As the parents of William are unknown there is no information available prior to his marriage. At the now famous St. John's Chur ch in Richmond, Henrico Co., Va. on Friday 17 Jan 1716 William married Elizabeth Parker b c a 1695 d/o Richard and Mitha Parker. Their marriage is recorded in the register of St. John' s. This register has been completely reprinted in the Besty of Henrico Parrish. The marriage of William & Elizabeth is recorded on pg. 228. Several other publications "Marriages of So me Virginia Residents" by Wulfeck also have the marriage recorded. This marriage record stat es "William atkinson to daughter of Richard Parker..." Richard's will fills in the first name "I give to my daughter, Elizabeth, wife of William Atkinson..."
In the year of their marriage Elizabeth's father gave her 150 acres in Henrico Parrish (Gooch land co. 1727) stating in the deed "for love and affection to my daughter Elizabeth, wife of William Atkinson". William and Elizabeth lived on a tributary of the Savannah River know n as Machumps Creek having been named after an Indian that told early settlers much about the country in which they lived. All of their children were born here and the family is mentioned in many records of both Henrico and Goochland Counties including the following.
Records of St. John's Church of Henrico Parrish
a 1736 record for a 1735 birth (probably Mary)
a 1736 record showing 230 acres standing good for a store debt in Goochl
a 1740 record of Goochland showing William with 3 sons - William Jr.,
Richard, and Parker.
...Sometime around 1743 William, Elizabeth and children undertook a Westward move that again would place them on the very edge of the frontier. This move took some ten years to ful y complete. Some of the records that show the move spanning several yrs. follows: William Sr . and Parker appear on Lance Holmans' tax list of Lunenberg Co. in 1746. William Sr., Willia m Jr., Parker and others on Henry Martin's 1747 tax list of Goochland Co. William Sr., Willi am Jr., Parker and Richard on Lance Holman's tax list of Lunenberg in 1748.
After 1748 records and listing proliferate in Lunenbery while those in Goochland almost cease and after 1756 when Henry married they completely cease. This westward move (a part of th e white man's first penetration across the Blue Ridge Mtns.) was to what is today Franklin Co ., Virginia. The family lived in the Snow Creek Distroct on the Harping and Story Creeks o f the Pigg River. When the move was initiated this area was in Brunswick Co., becoming Lunen berg in 1746, Halifax in 1752, Pittsylvania in 1767, Henry in 1776, and Franklin (as today) i n 1785. Records of the family appear in all these counties making it extremely difficult to find the vital statistics. In this area William was a farmer, land owner, and mill operator; the latter an occupation that stood the family in good stead for many years up to and incl uding the move to what is today West Virginia.
Many records of the family are in Halifax including a 1753 road petition from William to th e county commission requesting a road from Snow Creek and a 1762 land record for Parker. Aft er 1767 when the area became Pittsylvania the records multiply as the children became land owners and sellers.
It is not known when William (b ca 1690) died, however, the date is surely between late 175 3 when the records seem to show William Jr. being designated as Sr. and 1774 when the record s are clear that William Jr. is now Sr.From Ancestral File: William is listed as William Adkins, born 1690 in Henrico Co., Virginia , Died 1754/74 in Goochland Co., Virginia. His father is listed as John Adkins, Born Abt 167 0 in New Kent Co., Virginia. No mother is listed.
Ancestor Chart of Virginia Pierce lists William as born 1690 in Lawrence Co., Kentucky

Bio of William Adkins of 1689.In accordance with the Mormon Church at Salt Lake City, Utah, a William Adkins was born on March 28, 1689, and was a son of John
and Elizabeth Bromwell Adkins, of Sandy, Bedford, England. Our proven William Adkins (Adkinson) was said to have been born about
1690, which is about the same as March 28, 1689. Based on the above, we conclude that the William Adkinson, son of John and Elizabeth
Bromwell, born on March 28, 1689, and William born about 1690, are the one and same person. Assuming this to be true (at least until
someone, some time can prove differently), we are listing our Adkins relatives or progenitors as originating in England.Using number 1, as Henry Adkins, born about 1530, who married Francis Edwards, born about 1535, who could have been a descendant
of William Adekyn of County, Somerset Shire, England, who was born about 1327, and died about 1377.
Number 2, Thomas Adkins (son), born February 6, 1584, in Sandy Bedford, England, and married Hester Frasure.
Number 3, Thomas, born about 1610, in Sandy, Bedford, England, and married Agnes (unknown) Adkins, born about 1615.
Number 4, John Adkins (Adekyn or Adkinson), born April 7, 1639, in Bedford England, and married Elizabeth Bromwell.
Number 5, William Adkins (Adekyn or Adkinson), born March 28, 1689, married Elizabeth parker, on January 17, 1716, in the saint James
Episcopal Church in Henrico County, Virginia. Elizabeth parker was the daughter of Richard and Mitha parker. St. John's Episcopal Church
is located near Richmond, Virginia. During this early time period the church was some distance from the city, but as Richmond grew the new
developments surrounded the church until the church became part of the city of Richmond. It was in St. John's that Patrick Henry in 1775
gave his famous "give me liberty or give me death speech.Elizabeth's father, Richard Parker, indicated the marriage of his daughter, Elizabeth Parker to William Atkinson (Adkins) in his "will" dated
Mar. 6, 1726 in Henrico County, Virginia. Richard and Mitha Parker lived on "Four Mile Creek", in Henrico County, Virginia. William and
Elizabeth lived on Machumps Creek on the Savannah River and later moved to the Pigg River in Virginia.William Adekyn, Adkinson, or Adkins, and Elizabeth Parker had the following children:
1. Richard Adkins, born c. 1717 in Henrico County, Virginia and is said to have moved to Tenn., in 1790.
2. Parker Adkins, born 1720, in Henrico County, Virginia, and died c. 1792 in Montgomery County, Virginia, which was Giles County in
1806. He married a Mary (Polly) Fry. Parker Adkins severed in the Revolutionary War.
3. William Adkins, Jr., born c. 1721, in Henrico County, Virginia and died between 01-20-1784, and 03-15-1784. He married Lydia

100. Sarah7 Estes (Elisha6, Abraham5, Sylvester4, Robert3, Sylvester2, Nicholas1 Eastes) (#8457) was born in Henry Co., VA ABT. 1736. She married Charles Hutcheson. (Charles Hutcheson is #3821.) Charles died in Amelia Co., VA. Sarah Estes and Charles Hutcheson had the following family:
258 i. Charles8 Hutcheson (#15334) was born in Amelia Co., VA 1763. Charles died 1829 at 66 years of age. He married Rebecca Skillman. (Rebecca Skillman is #15335.) Rebecca was born in Maryland 1767. Rebecca
died 1848 at 81 years of age.William Bradshaw was married about 1767 near Amelia Co., Virginia to Susannah Hutcheson. She was born about 1748 in Amelia County, Virginia and was the daughter of Charles Hutcheson and Sarah Estes. Apparently William Bradshaw was not in favor with Mr. Hutcheson. In the will of Charles Hutcheson (Amelia Co., VA Will Book 2, p. 262, dated 24 February 1768), it says that Susannah is to receive her share if her husband predeceases her. If he [William] is still living, her share is to be divided amongst the other heirs. Charles Hutcheson died in January 1769.
On 15 February 1769, a land survey was recorded in Pittsylvania Co., Virginia for William Bradshaw for 172 acres "on the Waters of Snow Creek" (in a part of Pittsylvania County that was broken off into Henry County around 1777 and then into what is now Franklin County in 1785). William and his family moved there, and Susannah's mother Sarah (Estes) Hutcheson also purchased 320 acres along Snow Creek by 1772.
