In an attempt to figure out one of my brick wall, and possiblyhelp someone do the same, I am posting everything I can find about the 1800's Henderson's in Dallas County, MO. If you have anything to add, please let me know. The more info on the site, the more chance we have of figuring something out.

36 year old Mary is Mary Henderson, who married Reuben Smith in Dallas or Greene County about 1863. Note Reuben left his family in Pennsylvania and traveled to Missouri. After marrying Mary, he joined the 2nd Kansas Cavalry in Springfield, MO and after the war, the family moved to Linn Couty, Kansas where they appear in the 1870 census. By 1873, they had returned to Dallas County.. Mary shows being born in TN but both aprents from KY.

Samuel H. Henderson was born August 16, 1816 in Warren County, Kentucky and died March 12, 1886 in Odin, Mo.. His first wife Mary Jane "Polly" Bailey was born June 2, 1829 in Stewart county Tenn and died August 16, 1863 in Dallas County. They moved to Dallas County about 1860. Had five children. Samuel Houston Henderson, my husband's great-grandfather was born Nov 2, 1858 in Buffalo, Mo, Dallas County and died August 21, 1926. His first wife, Mary Glass and him had five children.
